China and Russia held a new round of strategic stability consultation in Beijing on Tuesday, co-chaired by Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.

The two sides engaged in in-depth exchange of views on the current global strategic stability and multilateral arms control, and reached a broad consensus.

This dialogue builds upon prior bilateral engagements, including the 20th round of China-Russia strategic security consultation held in Moscow in December 2025.

The two sides noted on Tuesday that global strategic stability now faces grave challenges.

They agreed that China and Russia, both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, will continue to enhance strategic coordination, firmly uphold multilateralism and actively safeguard the authority and effectiveness of international arms control treaties and mechanisms, in a joint effort to uphold global strategic stability and promote world peace and security.
